Moonstone’s shimmer is caused by light going in to layers of lamellar in the feldspar moonstone and basically, bouncing around a bit before exiting the crystal a different colour of light.
Moonstone is a very nurturing stone of intense female energy, it helps reconnect people who have parted angrily, increases psychic abilities and is a good protection stone, especially for the traveller.
