Amethyst is the birthstone for February.

Amethyst is a form of Quartz, normally purple in colour, but other minerals can mix with Amethyst during its formation in volcanic areas, causing the other colours of Amethyst. A Grade Amethyst is normally found in Brazil and Uruguay.

Amethyst is known for being a Master Healer, very good for meditation work, assisting with loss and grief, and being very protective. Just to name a few.
Amethyst is probably the most recognizable of the crystals because of its outstanding beauty.
